The heat pump condenser is a key component of any heating and cooling system based on heat pump technology. Its task is to convert the refrigerant gas (freon) from a gaseous state to a liquid state - this is done by releasing the accumulated heat into the environment - in our case, into the water flowing in the second channel of the heat exchanger. This is necessary to reach the correct temperature in the circuit, i.e. the heat pump for heating the water. Our heat exchanger plays the role of a condenser here.

How does the heat pump condenser work in the form of Ba-68-26-F plate heat exchanger?
In essence, the heat pump condenser is always a kind of heat exchanger - it works on the principle of heat exchange between the refrigerant gas and the environment. When the refrigerant gas passes through the condenser, it gives off the accumulated heat, resulting in a change from a gaseous state to a liquid state. This process is possible due to the temperature difference between the refrigerant gas and the environment. During a secondary process, the heat is transferred to the liquid, which is how the heating takes place.

In different applications, the condenser can take different forms - such as coils or tubes through which the refrigerant gas passes - and so on. During this process, heat is removed from the refrigerant gas, resulting in condensation and a change in state from gas to liquid - this remains constant. However - the use of plate heat exchangers in this form seems to be an optimal solution in terms of price, performance and market availability. A plate heat exchanger is probably the best off-the-shelf solution on the market that can function as a condenser. It is important that it is not just any heat exchanger, but a carefully selected high-pressure model (45 bar).

The Ba-68-26 refrigerant heat exchanger is one of the gas or refrigerant heat exchangers from the Ba-68 series, based on performance and heat exchange surface, it is located in the middle of the series. With a surface area of ​​1,768 m², it perfectly supports heat pumps or units that operate with refrigerants such as R410a, R32, R290, R404 or similar media. It is well suited for devices with a nominal capacity between 13 kW and 18 kW. The Ba-68-F series also includes larger coolant-water heat exchangers, the surface of which exceeds 3-4 square meters.

The Ba-68-26-F gas heat exchanger can be purchased as a basic version (uninsulated) or with thermal insulation, which is particularly beneficial for heating applications, as insulation increases efficiency and minimizes heat loss to the environment.
